This post is about to explode with major piggy POWAH! SING Special Edition is now available to own on Blu-Ray and DVD and it’s our favorite movie right now!
SING Special Edition Is Out Now on Blu-ray and DVD
I took the kids (and my mom!) to see SING in theaters over the holidays but now that we have it at home it’s the go-to every time we have a family movie night.
The SING Special Edition Blu-Ray includes over 60 minutes of bonus content including three all-new mini movies that feature your favorite SING characters AND (my daughter loves this one!) and exclusive Tori Kelly music video, plus more!
Gunter is one of my favorite characters. I want to say he’s my favorite but this film is filled with lovable animals. I don’t feel like I can pick! He lifts my spirits and makes me laugh.
Moms, Rosita is our spirit animal! Look at her busting a move in the grocery store. Have you noticed grocery store music is really good these days? (Are we old?)
Johnny is the gorilla that carves his own path despite his father’s desire for him to be part of the ‘family business’. He is so endearing. I just want to give him a hug.
Meena, voiced by Tori Kelly, steals the show in the end! Overcoming our fears is one of the main messages of the film and she really drives it home.
How To Plan a SING Family Movie Night
We decided to invite some friends over to watch SING with us for a family movie night. Family movie afternoon? Family and friends? Well we partied, SING style! And this was so easy and my kids are still saying, “Thank you so much Mommy!”
All you need for a fun movie party is popcorn and candy, right? And a few fun props don’t hurt.
The kids help me decorate the table before our friends arrived. You can’t see in this photo but we hung some of my old CDs (I think that answers my previous question about being old) from the kitchen table chandelier.
For decorations, you probably have some kind of instrument in the house you can use. My kids have guitars so we used that as a little prop for the party table. Use the SING Blu-Ray case, too! It sets the theme and you already have it on hand.
The food was SO easy to put together. The kids did most of it. We used vanilla wafer cookies and Kit-Kat bars to create this piano. The kids loved it!
I printed out some sheet music, totally random stuff I found through a Google search. We had everything from the Super Mario Bros. theme song to some hard rock to symphony! Then roll it up in a cone and fill it with popcorn. I just used a large glass bowl to prop these up in.
The kids loved eating out of them, so be prepared with extra popcorn. We refilled them twice!
Finally, candy! Movie theater boxes like this are best for sharing and they’re only $1 at my local store. Make them part of the display by putting them in something musically themed. Maybe you have a toy drum. I happened to have a SING lunchbox to stick them in.
I had a pitcher of lemonade for drinks and then it was party time!
The kids all grabbed a plate of snacks and we watched the movie. It was so cool to hear them talking about it while we were watching. “I want her to win!” “I love this song!” They were even pretending to play the instruments the characters were playing on screen.
SING is definitely a great movie for a crowd. My husband and I watched with them and they didn’t even mind! 😉
I can’t get enough of this film and the awesome music in it! There are over 65 hit songs including ‘Faith,’ a brand new song by the legendary Stevie Wonder (featuring Ariana Grande), marking his first song for a major film release in 25 years. This song rolls during the credits and this is when all the dancing above took place! I was dancing too (which might be why the pics are blurry!)
Throwing a SING themed party is so easy and SO much fun! People of all ages will love this film and music-themed movie snacks are really easy to put together, even last minute!
Bring SING Home
SING Special Edition on Blu-Ray and DVD is available to own now! You can find it where home movies are sold in stores, or order online. Keep in mind that Easter is April 16 and this is a perfect Easter basket stuffer!
