We’ve enjoyed the attractions in Hershey, Pennsylvania for years. There’s so much for families to do and one of our favorites is Hershey Gardens. There’s my little Lily girl above, sniffing a lily (of course!) in the Gardens when she was about three. Time flies, doesn’t it? I went back recently to explore so much more that Hershey, PA has to offer (look for those posts coming soon) and stopped in at the Hershey Gardens with my Mom. It’s early in the season so there’s not a ton in bloom just yet, but get ready! I see life bursting out around every corner!
This sweet little girl and her birdbath greet you near the Garden entrance.
How adorable is this butterfly bench? Everywhere you look there are fun surprises like this.
We visited in early spring so the trees were just starting to bloom against a bright blue sky!
There are a lot of spring bulbs throughout the Gardens planted in huge clumps. We enjoyed these daffodils and many hyacinth. The tulips hadn’t quite opened up but WOW, there are tons of them! Can’t wait to get back to see that.
More buds ready to open up and bloom.
This might be my favorite spot in the entire Garden. Wouldn’t it be lovely to rest on that bench with a good book? That tree is so inviting!
I should have taken a picture of the label with this shrub because I don’t remember the name, but that’s another thing that’s great about Hershey Gardens: most of the trees and flowers are labeled so you can identify everything. I personally like that for getting ideas for my own garden!
One of the highlights here is the Children’s Gardens. It’s really interactive with musical instruments, water features, and gorgeous plants.
Aren’t these Hershey Kiss seats adorable? And I spy a pig in the background. See him?! The Butterfly House opens May 22 and that’s one of the best parts of the Children’s Garden. The butterflies are stunning!
Check out the Hershey Gardens calendar of events. Make note that this Sunday, May 10 is Mother’s Day and moms get free admission! Yay! Happy Mother’s Day!
You can learn more about the Hershey Gardens including driving directions on their website and on Facebook and Twitter.

Hershey is the best! I went here during Hurricane Sandy actually to get out of the city. I need to go back when the weather is a little nicer! Thanks for sharing this post.

How lovely! My daughter will be starting university in PA this summer, so I will have to start looking at places to visit while I’m on the other side of the country! I have a membership to the Huntington Library and Gardens here in LA and I just love going there to relax, definitely something everyone should do once in a while.
