The best advice I was given that I can pass along is to never be negative to your child about potty training. Their self esteem is still developing and is very fragile. Positive praise is a much better option. They WILL end up potty trained- we won’t be changing diapers for 18 years. Hang in there.

The best advice, I believe, is that the child has to be ready to potty train, and can not be forced to do it, especially when they are so young. The child can be 4 and still needs to learn to potty.

The best advice I have found with my older kids is to wait until they are completely ready. Pushing them to do something just doesn’t work. Patience!!!

Wait till you think they are ready. Then wait some more. Then wait a little more. Then start, and you’ll be finished before you know it!

Consistency and patience. Lots of praise. If they are not ready, it is harder. They will let you know when they are ready, and it is much easier.

We are just beginning with oir daughter, but since our son was potty training in Summer time, we let him run around naked in the house! He picked it up very quickly!
