We have a little obsession with blankets around here and my collection is a bit out of hand. But it seems the blanket I like on the back of the couch is different from the one we take to stay warm at fall soccer games, and different from the one we cozy up with around the firepit, and also different from the one we take on a picnic. So you need a bunch, right?! Well, actually, I think I’ve FINALLY found just one blanket that will do it all: The Everywhere Blanket from Ecuadane.
Meet Ecuadane
I hadn’t heard of Ecuadane before they reached out to me for a feature on See Mom Click, and as soon as I checked out their website I wanted one of these blankets! Aren’t they gorgeous?! I love the colors and patterns. So classy yet totally practical.
Ecuadane was created by three globetrotting sisters that love to travel and wanted to share a piece of their journey and an appreciation for the talented craftspeople from around the world. As a mom myself, I love that this is a family endeavor and fully agree that travel is the best gift you can give your kids – it opens them up to the human experience in a way nothing else can.
Currently Ecuadane is focused on South American blankets made in the heart of Ecuador by natives living in the Andes mountains. So when you bring one of these blankets into your home, you’re bringing a piece of the world with it!
These blankets are very high quality and they’re durable. So while they’re something special, they’re also something practical that you can really get a ton of use out of. This isn’t the blanket that will decorate your fancy living room chair and never be used.
The Only Blanket You’ll Ever Need
I mentioned above that we have lots of uses for blankets in our house, both indoors and out, and this one Ecuadane blanket is has been the only one we’ve needed to cover all bases.
First, it’s beautiful. My Mom recently came to visit and it was the first thing she noticed in my house. “Where did you get this blanket? Wow, it’s gorgeous!” It’s definitely eye-catching and people will notice it if you use it as decor in your living room. I like to drape it over the back of the couch not only because it’s attractive, but because then when I want to cozy up with my dog and watch TV at night, I’ve got a blanket to grab that we both love!
Ecuadane blankets are soft and cozy so they’re my kids’ favorite, too. This blanket is lightweight and very comfortable. Some blankets can be stiff and scratchy which is not at all the case with this one.
You can see my dog, Sam has claimed ownership of the blanket, too. This is our favorite spot to snuggle each night. And if your dog sheds a bit like mine does, I can tell you this blanket washes up beautifully in the machine. I washed and dried it on a low temperature after we had it outside (with Sam on it, of course) and it was just as soft and perfect as it was when we got it.
I don’t use the Ecuadane blanket on our bed (thought you definitely could), but I wanted to demonstrate how big it is! My bed is a king size and the blanket fully covers it. The size is what makes it awesome to take outside for a picnic, day at the beach or park, or just for the family to share on the couch on movie night.
Recently we had a fire pit night on the back patio and the Ecuadane blanket is the one we all reached for to take outside with us. The dog is always the winner in the fight for the best blanket!
Ah, cozied up on his favorite blanket = one happy little dog.
Ecuadane blankets are a perfect gift idea. They’re beautiful and special, and they are something everyone will really get a lot of use out of, plus there’s a story behind each one made by craftspeople from around the world. I love them for a unique wedding or anniversary gift.
