This is a true story. I wasn’t always a peanut butter hoarder, but I am now. I’ve always loved peanut butter. I like it on sandwiches, I like it in cookies, I like it on a spoon. It’s delicious. So a few weeks ago I was in Target with my daughter grabbing a few things to pack lunches with before school started and we needed a jar of butter for the good ole’ PB&Js. My eyes landed on a jar of Peanut Butter & Co’s. Dark Chocolate Dreams. What the heck is that? I had never heard of this brand or seen chocolate peanut butter before. Sure, I’d melted down Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups in a mug and eaten them with a spoon once or twice in my lifetime, but I didn’t know this stuff existed and it took me a nanosecond to get it in my cart.
I’d like to tell you how we savored the jar over the course of the first couple weeks of school. Truth? It was gone in 2 days. You want to know what I put it on? A spoon. You can think less of me if you want but I just couldn’t help myself. This stuff was amazing. I immediately got online to look up Peanut Butter & Co. and get the scoop on my latest obsession. Turns out this is really good peanut butter, and not just because it tastes like heaven:
- Their peanut butter is all natural. That means it doesn’t have any hydrogenated oil added to it.
- All of their peanut butter is certified Vegan (except The Bees Knees which is vegetarian).
- Peanut Butter & Co. peanut butters are all gluten free.
- Their peanut butters are casein-free.
- They’re certified kosher pareve by the Orthodox Union.
- Peanut Butter & Co. supports a variety of ‘do-good’ initiatives including reducing poverty, fighting hunger, and protecting our environment.
I was pretty excited when Peanut Butter & Co. agreed to send me more peanut butter to sample, too. This time I got to try The Bees Knees, Mighty Maple, and White Chocolate Wonderful. Mighty Maple is sweet and delicious. It has a taste of maple syrup so it’s perfect for a morning waffle or bagel. Love to get a little protein in with breakfast especially when it tastes like syrup. The Bees Knees has a hint of honey flavor, though this one wasn’t as sweet as the Mighty Maple. It’s still delicious. Now, White Chocolate Wonderful. This stuff is like a drug to me. I’m totally addicted. You see that picture above? That’s actually in my house right now. Three jars just of that flavor. I have a problem, folks. Yesterday I was in Target with my daughter and spotted this peanut butter. I said, “Oh look! There’s my peanut butter!” My 7 year-old replied, “Mom! Just don’t look at it! Will you stop with the peanut butter already?” Um, nice try at an intervention dear. No I will not stop. It’s like I have to buy a jar every time I’m there. What if they run out? What if *I* run out? And there you have it. I’ve become a peanut butter hoarder.
I’m telling you, find a store near you that carries Peanut Butter & Co. products and buy some. I just told a friend about it the other day and she called me a couple hours later. “Lindsay. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh.” Seriously. It’s that good. Try the White Chocolate Wonderful. You will not be sorry you did. It’s sweet and creamy. I don’t even have words… I put it on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, my whole grain bagels for breakfast, I made cookies with it (recipe below!), and I’ll just go for full disclosure here: mostly I eat it off a spoon.
