I love a little sweet treat during the day. And night. Okay, I have a major sweet tooth. So I love to have a little snack to grab when I need a fix. Tis the season for candy canes so this week I make a bunch of these Candy Cane Pretzel Candy treats. So easy to make and they’re delicious. Salty and sweet. Nom. Enjoy!
Candy Cane Pretzel Candy Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Put a piece of parchment paper on a baking tray. Place the pretzels on the tray in rows. I put about 15-20 on each sheet. Cut the caramels in half through the thickness and place one half of a caramel on top of each pretzel. Bake in the oven for about 5 minutes. I highly suggest watching these carefully on your first batch. Once they start to soften (you'll be able to tell when the corners start to round) it can go pretty quickly into a puddle after that. At 5 minutes mine were just soft enough without being runny. While they're in the oven put a couple of candy canes in a plastic baggie and break them up. I hit them a few times with he back of a wooden spoon. This is a good job for the kids! 😉 When the caramels have softened, pull the tray out of the oven. Sprinkle candy cane pieces on top. You might want to give them a light push to get some stuck in the caramel. As soon as they're cool enough to eat, go for it! Store in an airtight container.Candy Cane Pretzel Candy
