Halloween is coming! It’s such a fun time of year with so many neat seasonal treats and crafts to do with the kids. We have our share of sweet teeth in my house and can appreciate a good piece of candy. So when I got the opportunty to check out Palmer’s Candy Halloween treats and tell you about them I was excited! Not only do they have some really unique and special candy that’s delicious, but they’re located really close to me in Reading, Pennsylvania. I love being able to support a business that’s local.
The Palmer’s website is full of great ideas for budget-conscious moms that want to have a little fun with the kids without breaking the bank on party decorations and food. Check out all of their recipe ideas. There are 8 great recipes that are perfect for kids and parents. I found this recipe for cute Trick or Treat Cupcake Parfaits which was SO easy to make. And it was cheap! I found cake mix on sale for $.99 last week and a tub of icing was only about $1.25. That’s all this is: cupcakes layered with orange icing. I just used food coloring to make it orange. Then put a spooky little Palmer’s Halloween candy on top and voila! It’s adorable!
I didn’t make all of the cupcakes into parfaits but just put some icing on them with more candy or just a dab of icing on some mini cupcakes. This didn’t take long at all and I had it ready for the kids when they came home from school and we had a little party! They loved it and I loved that it didn’t break the bank, both in terms or money and time. You’ll want to check out the craft ideas, too! There are ideas for masks, coloring pages, and a really cool candy tower plus more!
I have to tell you, this candy is probably the most detailed and really unique I’ve ever seen! You can see the bags we sampled above and below. Those on the left below actually have Pop Rocks right IN the chocolate and it’s really good! My favorite were the ones in the middle. That white zombie guy with fudge filling…YUM!
