5 Make-Ahead Snacks To Take On Vacation
We are a big time beach-going family and get there as often as we can. Unfortunately the costs of traveling can really add up quickly. One of the best ways I’ve found to save a bundle on our trips is to make some food at ahead of time and take it with us. I have a few favorite homemade snacks that I like to whip up before we hit the road. All of these are great for passing out on a long car ride, toting down the the beach or pool, or digging into between meals.
These could not be easier to make and they’re sooooo good. There are chocolate chips in there, so be aware on a hot day but they don’t need to be refrigerated and you can throw them together in a snap.
This is my new addiction. Again, super easy to make because you just throw everything into your mixer and off you go. The hardest part is rolling them into balls which isn’t hard at all, just takes a little time. I do keep these refrigerated to keep them firm. You could throw them in a cooler or a fridge if you have one where you’re staying on vacation. Trust me, they won’t last long.
Okay, I’d probably modify this and make it in a square pan just to make it easier to cut up, but you get the idea. It’s like a cookie, but a brownie. The kids love it and you can use any toppings you want. Deee-lish!
These are always a hit! I like to make the mini-muffins because then it’s okay to eat two. They tend to last longer that way, too, and this is another snack that doesn’t need to be refrigerated and can double as a breakfast item to save you a meal out. Bring some fruit and you’ll be all set. There are tons of muffin recipes out there. Choose your favorite flavors!
I use my dehydrator to make these which really makes it so easy. But if you don’t have one you can easily do the same thing in the oven on a low temperature. Dried fruit is very portable and not messy. My kids love it, it’s easy to make, and it’s healthy. Works for me! If you make fruit rolls just cut them up and roll them in wax paper and put them in a container to take with you.

What do you use for the “fiber cereal” on the energy balls? Totally going to try those!

I use All Bran just because that was the first thing I found. Probably a store brand or something similar would work just as well. Also if you don’t have protein powder on hand you don’t have to include it. I didn’t so I made it without and they came out great. Let me know how you like them! This is my new favorite easy recipe for snacks!
